This is a new stage for both of you... She may need to take some time and think through some of this before making a decision. There is no rush. Let her absorb what it would mean, fade vs DA and consequences thereof.

according to wt tamud, if a jw does in-vitro fertilization, carries a surrogate child, uses a surrogate, and so forth then it is "por-neia".. the bible says that mary was a virgin when implanted with the embryo of jesus christ.

under the mosaic law adultery was punishable by death.

since mary was already engaged to joseph, if she was to sleep with another man it was the same as adultery in the eyes of the law.

Anyone see 12 Years A Slave?

has anyone here seen best picture winner 12 years a slave?

it was tough to watch at times, and made me tear up a couple times.

it was a very well written well acted film with great cinematography, and was extremely moving.. i think it was a deserving winner..

i know this has been rehashed, time and again, but i saw this interesting blip on jw.org last night, and did a little thinking about it.... jw.

org answers the important question that so many have... are jehovah's witnesses a cult?.

The greatest pain I have from being in that f*cking cult is that I put my children through it, raised them in it. :(

Thank goodness they never accepted it when they became teenagers, but they are still hurt and damaged by their upbringing.

I think, though, just to be fair, that the WT writers may have been thinking of other cultures and practices when they wrote this, because I heard or read (probably in the WT somewhere, lol) that in China or ancient China, or perhaps among other cultures, that this was an acceptable practice to calm babies. But for us reading this statement today without any context of that sort of background to which they could have been referring, sounds weird and sick and twisted and just wrong, wrong, wrong!

Going Beyond the Things Written.

i went to the meeting today.

i go probably once a month for various reasons i have alluded to here.. .

i don't know what the title of the talk was, since i pulled my usual come in 5 minutes late, muster a fake "i'm mildly embarrassed" look on my face and slip in the back row move, but the crux of it was to not go 'beyond the things written'.. .
